Online Donations

The convenience of electronic giving!

Good Shepherd Parish offers electronic giving as a way to automate your regular donations. Electronic giving is convenient for you and provides much-needed donation consistency for the parish.

Set up automated donations to Good Shepherd and you’ll never again have to worry about finding your envelopes or check book before Mass. You may have your donation transferred automatically from your bank checking/savings account OR your credit card. You select the donations you want to make, the amount and the frequency (weekly, semi-monthly, monthly), then you don’t have to think about it again unless you want to make a change. You may donate to parish stewardship/regular collections, the poor box, the restoration fund… even help us cover the cost of your Clarion Herald.

You may also use our electronic giving page to make a one-time donation online in honor of someone. More detailed information is available below in our Q & A section.

There is a fee, paid by the parish, to use this service. The checking/savings account fee is $0.25 per transaction. The credit card fees are a percentage of your donation, approximately 3% of the total ($3.00 per $100.00 donation). YOU choose the most convenient way to donate; Good Shepherd will cover the fee.

Your donation will be processed by Vanco Services, LLC. Vanco processes electronic donations for more that 10,000 churches and nonprofit organizations. If you have any questions about the program, please call Lynn Bonomo in the parish office.

Click here to set up an electronic giving schedule. Or you may complete and return a paper authorization form. Return the form in a sealed envelope to Lynn Bonomo, and she will set up a recurring donation according to your specific instructions.

Electronic Giving Q & A

Why does Good Shepherd Parish offer online giving?
Electronic giving is all about convenience for you and consistency for our parish. It eliminates frequent check writing and makes it easy for parishioners to make their regular donations when they are unable to attend Mass. The church in turn benefits from much-needed donation consistency and a reduction in the volume of check and cash contributions that must be handled and manually processed in the rectory office. And there is no minimum! We gratefully accept recurring donations in the amount that is best for you.

I’d like to sign up for electronic giving, but I don’t want to appear empty handed at collection time.
When you sign up for recurring electronic donations, you will be able to request donation cards for the basket. They are small and easy to keep handy in your wallet, purse or vehicle. Just drop one in any collection basket for which you have made an online donation. No envelope necessary!

How can I make an online donation to honor someone?
It’s easy! Simply click the online donations link on our web site.  In the stewardship (Good Shepherd) box, indicate the amount of your donation and choose “one time” from the drop down frequency list. On the second donation page, in the “optional” box, choose “In honor of” or “In memory of”, then indicate the name of your honoree and (if you desire) the person we should notify of your donation. Please note that if you have not yet set up an online giving account, you will need to do this.

What’s the difference between Direct Debit Giving and Credit & Debit Card Giving?
Direct debit (ACH) means that your donation is transferred automatically from your checking or savings account to our church bank account. Credit & debit card donations go through the credit card system before being deposited into the church account. Choose whichever method you prefer.

Is there a fee to make electronic donations?
There is a fee but you don’t have to pay it! The fee for direct debit donations is $0.25 per transaction of any amount. The credit/debit card fees are a percentage of your donation, approximately 3% of the total ($3.00 per $100.00 donation).  YOU choose the most convenient way to donate; Good Shepherd Parish will cover the fee.

How do I make changes to my electronic donations?
If you set up your donations online, sign on to your account from the online donations link on our web site. From there you will be able to add, edit or delete any donations. If you set up your donation with a paper authorization form, you will need to use this same method to make changes.  You may print the form directly from our web site or request a copy from the parish office.

I’m convinced!  How do I sign up?
You may set up your recurring contribution by paper authorization form or from the clicking here for the online link. The paper authorization form is also available in the parish office.
